Wow you guys have some incredible sports shots. I've only been shooting for about 9 months so i don't have much to choose from but this is probably my fav action/sports shot.
Pismo Beach Sand dunes over thanksgiving with a 35mm Rebel Ti SLR with crappy 28-90 lens. ISO 400 No processing/cropping, straight off the cd i got with film development. Any comments/criticisms are very welcome as i'm a beginner and eager to learn.
It's difficult for me to select my best picture. I can, however, share with you my best DAY this year. It was a day last October when I rented a D2H and 80-200mm AF-S lens to shoot a cyclocross race with.
I had never used a D2H before and I had the beast in my hands for about an hour before the event. The results, in my opinion, demonstrate why Nikon design and ergonomics are second to none. To be able to pick up a digital body as complex as a D2H and generate good results the very first time, to me, is the BEST EXPERIENCE of 2004.
I was so impressed by this camera that I finally bought a new one last week ($1,850 out-the-door; what an unbelievable value).
Figured I'd chime in, since I someone mentioned karting. Would have been nice if I could have avoided the hay bales, but they'd just moved us back about 20 feet after a kart hopped the bale and went into the crowd (no one was hurt).
I truly don't know which is my best image of the year. I have been lucky enough to shoot at some really memorable occassions and with some really great people.
