I returned yesterday from Kenya and wanted to share some of the first day's shots. These were from Ol Pejeta Conservancy where they have over 300 rhinos, lots of other wildlife, and about 130 Rangers to stop poaching, a terrible plague!
As many of you know on safari we tend to shot a large number of images, but I went nuts for the first few days until I settled down - how many shots do I need?
Thanks for looking!
BOB
Cape buffalo
Black backed jackal
Reticulated giraffe, IMO more beautiful than the more common Masai
Nice set of images from your day 1. I particularly like the jackal and the last giraffe image. I think the last one might look better if more was cropped off the bottom.
I look forward to seeing day 2, etc.

Thank you Dave, good suggestion on the last image as I agree it's too centered.
agree with Dave re: cropping off the bottom of the Giraffe B&W picture. My pick is the baby black rhino, since they are so few left. Nicely done, Bob. I am heading there in June

I like them all but Rhino shots the best. Rhino's amaze me. They look like they stepped out of the Flintstones.
PS, if you want to shoot a poacher or two be my guest. Pun intended.
I agree and so do Kenya and Tanzania which do shoot poachers on sight, but demand from China and Vietnam keeps the prices so high poachers still take the risk.
I enjoyed them all Bob both in B&W and in color. Interesting subjects, nice comps and some real drama in that sky in the last shot. I've scrolled back through them a few times now and each time I see something additional in the images, great set!
