p.1 #1 · road trip to morgantown wv-suggestions?

i am heading from nyc to morgantown wv.

i will be based out of morgantown wv for about a week.

at the moment, i have no flexible time for the drive to morgantown but once there i might have hours at a stretch.

any suggestions as to what to see/what to do?

i have been to morgantown several times.

i even made the drive from nyc to morgantown via the backroads on my motorcycle.

i do know that the fog in the morning can be lovely.

i am packing a tripod.

any and all thoughts are appreciated.

(i am cross posting on the nikon and canon forums hoping to gather as many comments as possible. i hope that does not infringe on any FM rules.)

Funny you mention this, I've been to Morgantown, WV, specifically to ride the Morgantown PRT. We got a tour of the system.

I was going to say go to Green Bank and check out the observatory, but realized it is a couple of hours drive.

Did a quick check looks like you might be able to take in a WV basketball game, see the Don Knotts statue, probably some historical stuff around town. Lots of restaurants.

I usually do outdoor photography, I'd be looking up local, state and national parks nearby. Probably kayaking in the area.

If you want landscapes (fast flowing water/cascades) Ohiopyle SP in Pennsylvania is about an hour away.
