It is a few years since the first set of SPLASHHEROES , so I hope you all are happy that these special woman are finally back!
.
To make this year calendar happen we have used paint and water only!
Close to 100 galons (450litres) of liquid to be exact.
The project was stretched in time – and in this case the first shoot was done in May and the last during my Splash Workshops in October 2019. All together it was 8 studio/shooting days.
This year we have 12 splashy Vilenesses, well almost twelve… Because like in the previous SplashHeroes calendar – not all ladies were heroines – so this year not all of them are evil. And I am sure you can find the ones.
There is something that fascinates me about villains… It is probably the fact that among other things they simply cause chaos and give things to do to Heroes. Without the first group there wouldn’t be a need for the second – in our case making the SplashHeroes five years ago was an action simply waiting for a reaction and it is happenning this year!
We are in the process of putting the calendar of Workshops and Seminars events in USA for the up and coming year 2020 - if you would like us to make a trip to your city - Please drop us a line at: [email protected] and we will see can we add that location to the list!
I can't even begin to comprehend how you did this amazing work. What an amazing project! Your models are gorgeous and the paint just comes alive on them. The gold paint circling one model is stunning. How did you do that? Well-done! I will never look at a can of paint in the same way. . .
Moth, this is seriously COOL!!!
Amazing work and concepts.
Next year let me know, I'll fly over and assist for free!!! LoL
Amazing stuff....., GOT MILK LoL

Incredible work... but I seem to remember images similar to these but much more realistic. These have a cartoon-ish look, making them look like they were 100% digitally rendered.
Not that is a bad thing - obviously that was your goal.
I think it must have been another photographer who I am thinking of who did very similar work, but without the cartoon effect.
@Dave 1234
Yeah, I like the August illustration too! It was like a 900 photos to get these few "right" ones.
You can see a glimpse below:
@ Karl Witt
Thank you for your kind words!
@JohnSil
Cheers man! we will visit the East Coast this year. So maybe we will meet.
@gheller
I hear you Greg. It is mainly because the paint - the look and feel is different and as you said it was planned this way.
Also when you see the images full res or in print you can see more natural details.
Do you refer to one of the series below? ...But this guy's work is rubbish ... ;-)
Just joking... The images above are mine too... :-]
Trying new things in this series
Your "rubbish" comment took me back, but your "just kidding they are mine" made me blow milk out my nose!!!! Awesome job! Where can we find details about the workshop?
Fantastic work. Being a creative professional myself i know how much work and dedication goes into a project like this. I can say nothing but hats off to what you've accomplished here.
FWIW, May and October are my favourites.
p.s. i actually like the rendered look. In my eyes it lifts the superhero (Villain) theme to another level
@kliffe
Cheers Man! Appreciate that!
Regarding the workshops - I am still working on a details and talking to couple of studio owners in DC and Chicago areas. We will know something soon. Will keep you posted.
@therealthings
many thanks for your kind words! This one was a challenge - in terms of workload and time-consuming nature of the postproduction. But it is done and it makes me very happy!
I like that look too - I thought this slick / latex like look will match the theme nicely. Glad you feel the same!

Not to diminish the amount and quality of work here, but I guess my point was, with the cartoon-ish look, these look to be created wholly in the computer as generated.
The "realistic" ones (not sure if those were yours or another photographer) demonstrate (at least to me) that they were created in studio and not simply on the computer
I hear you Greg.
Yes, both of these series are mine. And once in a while you want to try different look. I've done the previous one 5 years ago and it was cool. This time around you have something different. I am happy that everyone will find something that they like.
;-) at least I don't hear complaints that I waste food...
Btw. It is not as easy as one might thing to sit on a Z-Brush or 3D studio Max and try to model + render above look in computer. I know because I worked in visualisation for a while and I find it much easier to shoot it in studio.
the real advantage in 3D computer world is that once you have the model and lighting - you can set multiple cameras and views. You cannot do that in postproduction of the photographs...
