This hike was on my list of things to do on my two weeks off this holiday season. I had never done it and I wanted to get in to a viewpoint I heard about for sunrise. This required me to get up at 4:00, drive to the trailhead by 5:45 and hike in 3 miles with 1,800 feet of elevation gain, in the dark and using my headlamp. About a half hour into the hike it started to sleet. When I got to my viewpoint at 7:00 it was raining. I used all the gear I always bring, just in case of weather. Here are some of the shots from that day (last Saturday). On the hike in I was wondering if it would be worth it. When the sun began to rise I got my answer.
