surprised you got the place all to yourself. when I went to the sides during sunset they were a ton of people around in 2005. great shot. I had a 16-35 and shot a vertical pano also.

Fantastic photo, thanks for posting. I am going there in a few weeks. I went to your website and noticed that you indicated this was an 11 shot stitched photo. Why 11 shots? I am not a landscape photographer, so I don't know about these things.
Any tips for me for photographing this area? Landing in Phoenix, planning on visiting Sedona, GC, and the Page area in 5 days. Thanks!
Very nice shot. When I first found out about Horseshoe Bend some years ago I always imagined some desolate place in the desert with a small parking lot far from civilization and hardly nobody around. Then you would walk out a couple hundred and there it would. Then last spring I finally got to go there and it was nothing like I imagined. A beautiful scene but also a mass of people all around, and of course I was one of them. I shot for a couple hours in the morning and left to go back to Zion. Which of course is crowded too.
