A few of my favorite landscape photos from the trip. For whatever reason I seemed to have forgotten to include EXIF in the image export. The photos were a kid of a7r3/4 and Voigtlander 21 3.5, FE 12-24, and Canon 24-70 mk2.

Nice. How did you get there and what were you shooting from?
This was a chartered ship, M.V. Ushuaia. Boarded the ship in Ushuaia, then 2 days to Antarctica (Drake was annoying but nothing really violent), then went around various islands. had few island and continental landings, and a few zodiac rides. Most of my landscape shots were from the ship itself though, as on land I spent most of the time with wildlife.
Loved the trip. Took over 16000 photos, though lack of my experience with high-speed shooting and tracking affected some of the photos. At least with landscapes I didn't have issues, and the light was wonderful most of the time, including during the soft pastel sunset.

Thanks. I'll be on that ship next year for over three weeks. Did you happen to do the Meunch Workshop?

Yes. The expedition crew they use to coordinate landings/zodiacs and navigation is excellent (don't know if they will use same team this time). And that ship's crew is absolutely fantastic, probably best I've even seen on any ship (though I haven't been on too many). But, the ship is not a 'cruise' ship - it's a small research vessel, a bit dated as well. Some people care, and some people (like myself) don't.

Great! I knew the 10 day trip just returned recently. I'll be on the 22 day Meunch expedition next October on the Ushuaia. Falkland Islands, South Georgia Island, and Antarctic Peninsula. Can't wait.

I know a few people going on that trip. If I could afford that many days off, I'd do it in a heartbeat! Sounds like it will be amazing. Even my 10-day trip was something incredible.

I agree! I am not sure that "pulling up" to Antartica in a cruise ship, eating lobster, swimming in heated pools, spas, really gives one a sense of what is around you.
Nothing wrong with a "research, freight, scientific vessel" of any sorts! You become part of the experience!
Great job, wonderful experience...a true adventure.
