Who has the right of way. Saw this Bobcat on December 9th on the south loop of Bosque. We had a dispute over the right of way and finally settled (just kidding), I let the Bobcat take the right of way.
I was very lucky to see this guy looking at me when I opened my eyes after an afternoon nap on my pick-up.
I added the first two pics to tell the story, when I first saw the cat it was walking toward the bridge and sat about 30 feet away from the bridge, I took few shots and moved back to let it go, then it crossed the bridge and the street, then disappeared. Few days later I saw same or another one about 3/4 of mile east of this sighting, but this time it had kill (Canada goose) and dragging the goose, I did not get a clear picture it wasn't this close and also in the woods.
Shibu, I am officially envious! Those are wonderful images of to us elusive bobcat. We tried and tried and it didn't grace us with its presence.... You are very fortunate there and the portrait is just jaw-dropping. YGMV!
Ohhh these are quite special! Gives me goosebumps Awesome set, each one a little something special in character Shibu.
#1 I like your lower angle on this one, that cat looks lanky and powerful
#2 great peek through shot, industrial/nature image, pretty cool
#3 Wowza that is a knockout of portrait
#4 nice kitty
#5 sweet!
Very nice! I live in Albuquerque and visit Bosque del Apache often. Over the last couple of years I've been seeing bobcats, (maybe the same one over and over, except that one time there were two chasing one another playfully across the levee road), in that same area regularly. However, only photo I've managed to take was after sunset, at about 1/30th second on a 600mm lens and isn't super sharp. I'm jealous!
