I can't pick a favorite. But... being a cat person, both ocelot shots and all the jaguar shots are stellar! Jaguar in the water?? looking straight at the camera?? Wow!!!

Eric, these are all spectacular but I am astounded by that sun bittern!! What great shots.
Sue
Thanks Sue....sun bitterns are so interesting....walking around they are just barely interesting...on the wing...well something else altogether.

Hi Eric...
Every one of these is wonderful in its own special way. Rather than pick one or two favorites, I'll pick them all. And by the way, if I can see into the future, it looks to me like you're headed for your 17th "Featured Thread" win. YGMV!!
Tom
Thank you Tom, I was very fortunate to have great subjects and the company of a wonderful friend and photographer....it couldn't have been better

3, 7, 12. Those are my fave from this wonderful set. What a great time you must have had getting these images. I also really like the capabara/ani image. Their physical build seems to mirror each other. Super stuff, Eric.
Thanks Ken, I hope that people who are considering the Pantanal realize it is much more than jaguars and the occasional kingfisher....there were birding specific trips as well that couldn't care less about the cats.
Amazing work Eric... This is such an amazing display of biodiversity.
I am so impressed with some of the more intimate images that you have shared... the Pantanal is a "bucket list" sport for me.
I'm just Speechless. Beyond words other than to say that I was there 1 year ago and was "generally" pleased with some of my images but Man have you set a new standard and this makes me want to go back even more and improve my skills.

Thanks Joshua....it is a special place with surprises hidden in plain sight....a bit of a teaser perhaps.

Terrific collection of images! They are all superb. The ocelot is difficult to get and you got a couple of beauties. #19 is a great jaguar image.
Dave
That Dave, I was particularly happy to manage the little cat as well as the anteater and tapr.

Well, I'd say you've out done yourself on this series Eric, what a superb collection of work.
Many thanks Louie, we were quite fortunate to have some overcast skies which allowed for some shooting in what would have been bright contrasty and shadow filled days.

Thanks Bob, it seems as if all my photography is in extremes of climate, below 0 or 95F and above.

Sometimes I get lost in long posts and don't see images that keep my interest as I scroll along, Eric this is an outstanding set of quality images. You have some masterful exposures and some very pleasing to the eye presentations, all of great quality.
I'm catching these at work on a little laptop so I will thoroughly enjoy them later at home on the big screen Your processing is just wonderful, I can tell you took time and pride in each image and you have certainly earned my vote
Say hello to Don for me too please.......
Karl
After reviewing on the 'big screen' I concur with my first observations The cat shots are giving me goosebumps buddy, Harry Potter critter is sweet and on and on and on .................All in a good way my friend, outrageous!!
If I could vote twice I would, I tried it's not an option ...Show more →
Thank you my friend. It is only because of people like you who have fostered my growth and skills that I have been able to improve...still a long long way to go but the journey has been fun and rewarding.
