Can anyone who owns this lens snap a quick picture of the stars at lets say 1.8-2.4? I've been waiting for a decent review on how this lens does with coma. Thanks!

It does perform pretty well, according to this review (last section at the bottom of the page).
Great shots here. I wasn't planning on diving into the Z system so quickly, but I now have the 35, 50 and 85 S primes. 24 is about as wide as I need, so might as well complete the S prime kit.
The more I use this lens, the more I think it is an absolute gem. A few more from around Sydney on various subjects to give more of an idea of it's abilities.
I have been interested in this lens since its announcements. My interest would include astrophotography. I have been looking for a comparison of this lens with the highly touted Sony 24 mm f1.4 GM - specifically for low light/astro. So far all I have been able to find are some MTF tables at ephotozine which shows the Nikon marginally outperforming the Sony. But those are not real world comparisons.
Does anyone know of some examples of astro with this lens - or is it just too early yet?
Lance, keep up,the good work, it’s dreary as hell up here in the northern hemisphere so cover us over our winter with warm and sunny images!
Thank you very much for your kind comments, Robert. Much appreciated!
What I generally get concerned about is showing too many boring old shots of sunny Sydney. I love the moody darker photos of many parts of the Northern Hemisphere and the old buildings and churches etc. I guess we all like to see what we don't have!

Okay, let me get this lens and show you some bare trees with grey sky and dirty snow piles pictures.
Another excellent Z 1.8S primes! I think all Z 1.8S lenses are excellent so far. This thread is too dangerous for my GAS :-). If I add 24, I would have a completion of Z 1.8 primes. Probably I should do it this time next year.
Just picked up this lens over the weekend. Trying out some new perspective with my kid.
Will need to take this lens out after the snowfall tomorrow to give it a full evaluation. Loving it so far. Actually, love every single f1.8 S lens Nikon has release. I buy an f1.8 lens to use at f1.8. The way it should be. Not f2.0 or f2.8 but at f1.8 as designed.

By then there should be even more Z 1.8s to fuel your GAS - like (hopefully) the 20mm f1.8 Z - really looking forward to that one!
I've got the 24mm f/1.8 S ***USED*** for three quarters of the price, believe it or not. It's a really great lens, closer to the exceptional 1.8/50 S and 1.8/85 S lenses than to the very good, but mere mortal 1.8/35 S lens.
Just ordered this lens. Within the next days i will receive the 24mm 1.8s and the 85mm 1.8s. The only 2 focal lengths I need for my photography and filming. Im so excited.
