I haven't done weddings since 1997. All commercial advertising now. I was going through some old files and found these old negatives from probably 1995 or so. This is what my on location bridal portraits looked like back in the day.
Hasselblad 500 C/M. Zeiss Hasselblad Sonnar180 cf with Hasselblad softar 1 filter. Kodak t-max 400 in Rodinal 1:50.
I thought I would add lighting info for anyone interested. These were shot at the reception. 10 X 20 ft gray muslin back drop. On the bride by her self White Lightning 1200 ket light with 30 X 40 inch soft box with two layers of diffusion. In close, just out of camera, feathered and a large white reflector for fill. Vail light was my background light(also white lightning 1200) turned around from the backdrop and pointed into the vail. Key light was at f/8 and that is where I set exposure with vail light at f/5.6 metered off back of vail. The lgiht was about 3 ft from the back of the brides head and down low pointed up at the back of the vail.
Bride and groom the key light was the the same but the background light turned towards the backdrop where I set it to meter f/5.6 off back drop. Note the slight seperation in the grooms tux jacket from the backdrop. The bride and groom were positioned about 8 feet from the backdrop to make sure there was no key light spillage on the backdrop. Back ground light was about 3 ft from the back ground and about waist high hiding behind the B&G.
Contemplative to be sure Allen! There is just something about old images! Character? Yes!!!
Great job!
