Thanks for your photographs. I would say that at 70 mm FL your photo is focused on the eyeball, thus the eyelashes are a little out of focus. On the 50 mm the focus is on the eyelashes, hence they are tack sharp. All in all, this lens delivers outstanding sharpness in the centre at both 50 and 70 mm, best in class. Did you checked for flare resistance?
Hello, does anyone here tried out how many FPS yout get out of an A9 with this lense? I just got the Sigma 14-24mm 2.8 DG DN and I love it, but I realized I get "only" around 10 FPS whereas I get 14-15 FPS with my Canon Sigma´s via the MC-11. It`s nothing I care about with the UWA but with the 24-70mm I might want to have some more FPS some times. It´s the only drawback I see comparing it to the GM. On the other hand the close focusing ability makes up for this shortcomming. I just wanna know.
Update: Something went wrong with my initial Testing of the 14-24mm DG DN. I have to apologize. After retesting it again I got around 15FPS. (148 and 151 shots in 10 sec bursts).

I asked this question few days ago and got no clear response. So I went to Samy's Camera in OC (no sale tax promo) and picked one up this morning. To answer your question, it can do 16-17 fps in AF-C, compressed RAW with the A9. I ran several bursts at 3 seconds duration each. Each time, I got about 50-51 shots per 3 seconds. I need this combo to photograph my daughter's Taekwondo activities...
on a side note, I also got the same fps with the tamron 28-75 2.8 as well.

It looks really fine. Given that 24 mm is its weakest FL, I am really astounded by these results. This lens deserves a deeper investigation. The corners seem to be alike to my 14-24 f2,8 DG DN corners at f8. Sigma is taking the right steps to get an exceptional f2,8 trinity at a much lower price than Sony. Next year the 70-200 DG DN Art will see the light.

I edited my initial post as there was something wrong with my Testing. The 14-24 DG DN archieves araound 15 FPS in 10sec bursts.
I hope nobody got confused about my misleading information.
