My wife and I took some time off and spent a few days in the Middleburg-Leesburg, Virginia area. It is the home of Virginia's Hunt Country and an area of Civil War History. Beautiful and historic and very photographic!!!
I went to Mt Zion Cemetery to see the olde Civil War hospital/church and the cemetery. As I was entering the cemetery this wonderful friend actually led me to every Confederate flagged grave there PLUS a section of the cemetery that had Union cavalry buried in a battle with Mosby's Rangers. He would bark, I'd shoot and then he would lead me the next flagged grave.

PS This is more my own acknowledgement to this fine friend and his unique acknowledgement that he knew what I was doing.

Love this story, Dan, and the wonderful friend who was kind enough to help you out.
Thanks Fred!!! I was stunned at first. He would not allow me to pet him. He would stand there until I finished taking the photo then would walk to the next flagged headstone. When I finished he led me to the sign/marker showing the military action that took place on the grounds then went back to his mom and dad. It was magical!
TXS!

Dan, lovely story and hope you tipped your furry guide with some good treats 👍🏻
Thanks Parul. No I am sad to say I had no treats to thank him with. He was a great guide. Almost surreal to say. Knew where to go and what I was looking for. When I was finished, he went to his "parents" as they cleaned up the cemetery/church grounds.
