t's been a busy summer and I only just got a chance to go shooting for the first time in months. Luckily there was still some drama going on with the last bits of monsoon still upon us.

So I guess that's a failed experiment. Ever since I switched to a 4k monitor, with the way that browsers upscale images, everything I post looks a little blurry. I was hoping that if I posted larger images, that wouldn't happen. Clearly not. Here are more typically sized versions:
That's better David. Like many here, I use a 4K monitor, too. You should never allow your browser to upscale any images. Create the final size you want to present, sharpen to taste, and view full size (1:1). Blurriness be gone.

Thanks. #4 is an IR shot. Since the storm was off in the distance and the sun was shining in the foreground and behind the storm, I knew the IR would really make the rain pop. You still have to process the IR image the right way, but a lot of that drama is simply due to moving down the spectrum just a bit.

Thanks. The city lights do make for some cool stuff. I shoot up there quite a bit and not only do the city lights add their own area of interest to the photos, but the way they light the clouds up is often pretty cool as well, especially if there are other light sources like a recently set sun, or the moon.
