p.1 #1 · Wedge Pond - Kananaskis and some Highwood Larch
Last weekend the leafy trees hit their peak and the larch were a week from prime. Unfortunately, the forecast for Sat/Sun is for snow and more snow - so it likely will come and go and these ones will be my best colour. But time will tell.
Wedge Pond and Highwood in Kananaskis.

Good looking set, Scott. I was there early in September, but leaves were still basically green. Weather was poopy too. Drove through just over a week ago. Weather and light was not so good. There is always next year.

Scott!!! It's andrew from Mt Assiniboine Beautiful shots from Wedge Pond and Highwood! You captured some great light! Too bad we didn't get those skies at Assiniboine
Just starting to sort thru my shots now that I'm home

These are all beautiful photographs. I am not sure what I'm seeing in the larch tree image. Do they have purple bark? I have never seen anything like that.

KCollett: Well aside from the 30cm of predicted snow - this weekend has promise. Glad you like the set. Much appreciated. Scott
keepclicking: Glad you like the set and last weeks image. Last week was Magog Lake in Mount Assiniboine Park. I might post some more of that series. They have to grow on me with time. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated . Scott

Andrew - good to hear from you. I look forward to seeing your posts. It was great to meet you and hike in the dark for an hour. Hopefully it will give you a good story to talk about those crazy canadians.
Let me know when you post. I don't want to miss them.
Glad you like the light. I think I described these two locations to you. Thanks. Scott

Larch are quite dark in the bark when they get old. And it takes them a really long time to get as big as this one. Its probably 250 years old. The red you see is where the bark has come off. But if you see purple - my processing or your monitor colour calibration is off. I will check on my end. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

Fantastic set!! #3 does it for me - wow!
Glad you like 3. Now that I see it again, with time in between I am thinking about a lower smaller crop, it shoudl be about the leaves with the mountain as a wow backdrop. But as is its kind of causing competition between the mountain and the leaves.
So I will look at it again and repost - lower, darken the mountains, lighten the leaves to emphasize the leaves and colour
Thank you for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

BPsmith511: Glad you like 3. I suggest Highwood and Engedine Meadows will be better spots in November. The leaves will be gone and it might be frozen at Wedge Pond. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
