I haven't seen a hummingbird in a couple of weeks. Four days ago, a few migrants passed through and visited for a bit.
Haven't seen them today, so they may have headed on to another stop along the way.

I can't really express how wonderful it was to get to spend some time with them.

I don't know if others have an issue following these small quick birds in the viewfinder like I do. I was constantly taking my eye from the viewfinder and hearing myself say where did it go ?? Consequently , I would miss opportunities. This week, I tried the Olympus Dot Sight . I was skeptical , but willing to give it a try. Much to my surprise it opened up a whole new viewing experience. I could see the area and where they went !. I know my application ( small birds /bees with lots of foliage ) is not typically what most bird photographers would use it for

. However expanding my field of view certainly helped me.

As always your nits , suggestions and comments are most appreciated.

These are all terrific Roberta. It sounds like you found the correct tool. I seem to remember saying the same thing when photographing the whales on Sunday. All of these are a delight to view yet the red reflection of the flower on the belly in 2 makes it my pick.

These are all excellent images (as per usual), but the second one is extraordinary. The red glow on the bird is something I have never seen. It really unifies the image of the bird and the blossom.

It may be Autumn by the calendar, but it is still summer by the temps . We are still in the 90's.

Excellent set Birdie, #2 is my pick, looks like there is a red light bulb in the flower reflecting on the Hummingbird
