Overcast all day, I am waiting for my long lens to arrive and figured it a good day to try out the Sony Macro 90. These are all handheld, just getting a feel for new menus, new focusing options and an electronic viewfinder which has its benefits.
Though I got a Hover Bee IF, all I got was it's backend Birdie, I don't know how you do it
Comments always welcomed, say what's on your mind, all good with me

Well Karl, looks like you have adjusted quite nicely to your new gear . Excellent work.
Really nice work on the wolf spider. Those eyes are so small . Did you know that they do not catch their prey in webs. They chase it down , just like their name sake
Love the composition and focus on 6 and 8 .
Secret to the hover in flight - Lots and lots of deleted shots

Good stuff Karl. Looks like that Sony camera takes good pictures
Good color, sharpness and comps buddy. I know you say you are still learning your new system, but it looks like you'll have it mastered in no time at all!

Nice set Karl
The first three have me wanting to do the same thing but I just can't get that close .... of course all those flowers make me jealous cuss ours are all but gone, but if I live though this winter (which I will (I hope)) I'll get my chances.

All so nicely done Karl !
Birdie
Thanks Birdie. I really need to get out my tripod for these next time. Manual focus assist is great! I will work on my 'hover' shots

Bear- Thanks for the visit and kind words
Lynn- We too are on the downswing of holding onto color and textures. However the glorious Fall foliage will be in full swing soon and you can't beat that color! Thanks much, enjoy!
John- I am pleased to hear that, thank you!
KD- That vote was way too kind buddy, but thank you. Someday our paths will cross
Dave- Thanks for the appreciation on #6. Take care

Beautiful set Karl,
glad to see the light was perfect for your chosen work for that day.
My top picks are # 1 (love the color and harmony of that one), 6 (the diagonal line & contrast of light & dark), 7 & 8 (talk about that hover fly being in a sea of flowers).
I miss going out, but so much going on and it's been too hot, too scared to go out alone, and so many other things I can't count.

louie- Hey Louie thanks much for stopping in
Joshua- The new gear is a good challenge Joshua, and thanks for all your support in the background as I ventured into this. It gets a bit better and more comfortable each time I have time to tinker. Thanks for the good words buddy
Lil- Hey Ms Lil, always my pleasure to get your visit. Wish I were in your area so we could go out and shoot together, for sure one of these days you can show me around! Miss your work, take care, stay cool.
Morris- New gear is a good challenge Morris, at first some dislikes, however those quickly became positives. Long lens due to arrive tomorrow so I can get back to the birds. Lots of migration coming up as you know along with some spectacular Fall foliage to appreciate! Take care Morris....
