The Bristlecone pines are among the oldest plants on this planet. Some individuals predate the Egyptian pyramids.
Have seen them in our backyard in California in the White Mountain, but had another opportunity to see some more in the Mt. Evans Wilderness in Colorado. They both share the same habitat - dolomitic bedrock with very little top soil. Here's one at sunrise.
