p.2 #3 · Inspiration Point - wide, wider and even wider. . .
I like them all, but think the third one is my favorite in part because I like sun stars. Some folkls dislike them. I am guessing that is the CV 12 given the 10-pointed sun star. Lovely work on all, however.

What REMAC said, Dave. If I had to pick for a contest I'd go with 2 because of the color balance between sky and land plus I'm a fan of wicked sunstars. Fine work.

Very nice shots. #2 and #3 for me. Been there many years ago but I don't remember the background. I do, however, remember the unique rock formations in the foreground.
Glad you like it and to refresh your memory Inspiration Point is about a 6 mile RT hike from where you can park at Massai Point.

12mm for me
Thanks - I'm very partial to 12mm.

Another vote for #2, although #3 ain't bad either.
Thanks Jim. And that's my thinking as well.

As others have noticed, the first is impacted by color. Some of it may be post processing, but some of it is just timing I believe. The lighting is more dynamic in the second two.
I probably like the second the most, although I'd give the first another chance with maybe more similar color balance.
I think all three are keepers.

Thanks Tim. Because of the different glass and different light I processed each as individuals. Now having said that I'm also conscious of the differences. Because of that I am reprocessing the first one (posted below) and tried to put more of the same color balance into this pic - and although I did not have enough real estate to do a proper perspective correction I tried to do a little using warp.

I see your dilemma.
No "preference" here, I like them all.
Thanks! I appreciate that and glad I posted all three!

Thanks Bobby - knowing how picky you are with your own postings I appreciate that. BTW congrats on your Feature Thread of the Week win with California Girls! Did not know you had such portrait talent as well!

Yes - that is my beloved CV12. Love that lens and what it does shooting into the sun!

I think they all look nice but the second stands out.

Thanks! I think with the original 3:2 perspective that's my favorite as well.

28mm one for me, for the composition, color balance, and restrained processing.
Thanks. Hopefully I did not overdo it on my 28mm remake. I really try to keep my processing realistic, which is sometimes hard to do when the sky explodes in color.

To me, 28mm and 16mm are the best, with 16mm taking the top spot. The 12mm shot just seems to wide for the scene, with the foreground taking too much interest and the mountains in the back fading away.

Thanks for the comments, which pretty much reflect my thinking as well. My take on landscapes is that foreground pegs the whole flow of the picture. And when you are out on the edge of a cliff that makes it difficult for some focal lengths - especially the 12mm.
Thanks again for taking the time to leave your thoughts - you guys rock!
