a few from the weekend, rhythm & roots music festival, charleston rhode island, always labor day weekend. i have attended for the last 17 years. always a good time
here is a trio out of austin, texas. hot club of cowtown, doing their part of a set called music of the band, with dustbowl revival and hot club of cowtown. they opened together for a few, then hot club did a few followed by dustbowl revival closing it out, then a combined finale. they toured over the summer together doing a few of these joint shows, they were well rehearsed and really good interpretations, the closer was a killer version of the weight, my all time favorite song of the band. i only brought the 135 with me so it wasn't possible to get far enough back to get the bass player in the shot without getting the stage front dancing crowd in also, as it was this shot required some feeling through the crowd
ok, the bass player does deserve his moment in the miranda sun, he works just as hard as the rest of the band, they have been together 20 years and it shows in very polished vocal arrangements
max bacca on basso sexto and his nephew josh bacca on accordion, the very good tex-max band, from san antonio texas, los texmaniacs, closing out the roots stage on sunday night
