The iconic sunrise view from above Vernazza, in Cinque Terre, is definitely spectacular. However, I never really liked the classic view with the tower touching the mountain across, which pretty much kills the composition for me. So, I found my own spot, from where the tower is detached from the mountain and has some room to breathe. 81 seconds exposure with my Hasselblad X1D, Hasselblad XCD 30mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra filters
Beautiful! One of the best shots I've seen of this location. And I agree about the tower position.
If you don't mind me asking, we're you staying in Vernazza, and how long does it take to hike to this spot? I'll be there in 2 weeks but staying in Riomaggiore and not sure if I'll be able to make it up in time for sunrise, depending on when the trains start.

This spot is only 7 or 8 minutes of steep hike with few steps. From train station walk down towards the town and make left at the pharmacy and just follow the narrow path. You can’t miss it.

Thank you very much, glad you liked and I am happy you agree with my choice of shooting point

As he said. The only thing I would note is the timing - 7/8 minutes can easily became 15/20, depending on your fitness level. I go there often leading my Workshops and I always allot 20 minutes for the hike to make sure everyone gets there in time for sunset or sunrise
