This one was a model call for a dress (the orange-ish one) that I just got in the studio.
The girls were adorable and great models...but they wouldn't pose together! I tried but they refused to touch so it made the poses super awkward and stiff.
Another great set. I'm afraid that I'm not good enough in the arena of formal portraits to be able to offer any constructive criticism. They look great!
I've looked at a few of your other posts and I can say you've certainly nailed your style - very consistent.
I know this kind of photo always get high marks in PPA competitions and I for one like the classic "Masters" look.
The poses are good if reminiscent of Victorian Era portraits.
The kids mostly look very somber and subdued. That has a time and place but in my opinion it would be nice to see some exuberance since that's what we cherish about childhood.
Overall - excellent craftsmanship.
I don’t even try doing portrait photography, it is so darn complex to me🙄🙄 so can’t offer any technical input. All I can say is your customer should be very happy with these. Excellent 👍🏻
Excellent! An old friend and mentor once told me that there is no such thing as a photo that can’t be improved, but I looked for a long time to find a tiny nit in this set. I think her right hand in number 6 is in a rather awkward position. The sharp bend in her wrist seems unnatural. Calling attention to such a minor issue should only confirm that the set is really well done.
You have been consistent in your style and if your clients are happy then great.
IMO they look highly processed. Too much frequency sep and I find the skin excessively blotchy. The technique you are using makes the skin look dirty, check out the skin tone in #4 in her collar bone area. There are some odd "strip" highlights on her shoulders to bi-cep on both arms with a clear hard transition.
