Thank you, Dan! Absolutely agree with you about the vignette on #1. I've made the correction.
Looks great. This makes me think that I might perhaps prefer light vignettes for color, and slightly darker ones for black and white. And maybe there's a vignette level for websites, and other levels for prints on different types of paper.
I also like that your subjects in this series are not looking into camera--more cinematic to me.

These are excellent Bobby. The character of the people in these images shines through front and center. Like being there with them.
So my question to you is, do these visions come to you in your mind before you look into the viewfinder or does the viewfinder help isolate them and make you create them so to speak?
I struggle tremendously with any portrait, I fee I am infringing on privacy but at the same time there are moments like these that are very dramatic and powerful yet the subjects don't seem intruded upon.
#6 exudes stories of a lifetime Bobby...............ohhh so much could be heard from that women. Comp and light on #2 is outstanding. Love the textures and rich colors of #1. Love the ray of light and coloring on the wall in #4. Lots of little nuances are strong points for me on these!
Frankly, I had no expectation when my boss and I visited Bali and hired a photographer-guide. The guide took us to various villages, so some of these images were staged and semi-staged. The 2 painter/artisan images were not setups. We visited this wood carving facility and this guy was just there painting this wood carving. We shot him at this grungy corner (#5) where he worked, and I was desperately looking around for a more interesting background - and stumbled into this room nearby with light streaming in from a high window. So we got him to move to that room (#4) and shot him with just this single window light by this grungy wall with no supplemental lighting. This was the only shot that I had visioned in my head on-site.

Just fantastic images Bobby! Just sends chills up my spine viewing them. Technically, IMHO, perfect. Yeah there might be some nits but the essence of each and every image is perfect!
