I'm relatively new to birding, but I noticed as long as the birds can't recognize a human shape - they will be ok. Somewhat concerned, but won't fly away.
For small birds this thing worked best for me so far
Interesting set up. Maybe you can start a thread about the equipment and your assessment. I use the CamRanger with their motorized gimbal. The CamRanger is excellent but the gimbal is mediocre, or worse, with a large lens.

I have the Roland Pro for the 200-600 and I am not a fan. The bigger sections work great but the smaller sections are supposed to hold with Velcro and they just don't stay in place so my 200-600 is "naked" on the last 3rd of it which defeats the purpose really. Maybe it works better on the 600 f:4 but not happy with it on the 200-600
Not sure why you have a problem. Mine stays on fine. LensCoats are junk IMHO
Thank you, Steven! You meant whether I used the crop or APS-C mode to take the image? I normally don't since I like to crop later in PP. That image ended up getting cropped by quite a bit...

N. Shrike, this guy/gal was quite the character...flew in out of nowhere and perched almost within my 600's MFD. Then proceeded to jump around on the ground hunting bugs? for 15mins along the log piles. Then flew right at me and perched beside me again. Flew off and about 25mins later showed up again, perched so close I had to back up and then proceeded to hop along the ground again before finally leaving. Fun to watch and kept me entertained while standing around for hours waiting for owls that weren't showing themselves at all....

Welcome back to Sony. I know. You never really left
I tend to rarely post, but I was out today and felt inspired. Tough lighting with bright sun, but a snowstorm made it easier to find the overwintering Wilson's Snipe. This one let me approach fairly closely to get some better lighting.
Still not even a 1:1 crop. Amazing detail with the 1.4x TC even wide open
