Panama is Costa Rica´s south eastern neighboring country and is one I love to visit as this country boats over 1000 species of birds and also many mammals that are not found in my country.
Panama is very easy to travel although not too many people do speak English once you are out in the provinces but with the help of a local guide you can find a lot of things without getting lost in a conversation!
During my last visit I got the chance to photograph many lifers and yet these are not top noch shots for me, I am glad I got them as it was not easy at times since these neotropic birds are pretty shy. Here is where the 600 with the 1.4X tc makes a lot of sense!.
In any case, many thanks for looking and before hand for your nice comments on my work.

White-whiskered Puffbird waiting for a possible meal to fly by!
Gartered Trogon, I shot this with my dear flash, just a "kiss" of light to reveal those fine feather details!
My favorite hummer in Panama is this Rufous-crested coquette.
Spectacled Owl perching near its roosting site
Last but not least, this tiny bird is called Spot-crowned Antvireo
Wonderful!! I lived in Panama the 3.5 years while serving in the USAF, but I was so busy I was never able to spend time photographing the birds and wildlife. except for the Coatimundi's and 3-toed sloth that lived in my backyard tree.
Wonderful set, Juan. I am amazed at your skill in being able to get such clean backgrounds for these forest dwellers. The trogons and the Puffbird are my picks.
