It's been a while since I've been able to get out and shoot anything worthwhile to post.
I finally had some free time this past weekend and couldn't pass up the opportunity to go out and shoot with a few members of FM. Its unfortunate the weather turned out to be cool and a bit overcast which led to a couple members calling to cancel, but I was already 15mins into my hour+ drive so I decided to keep heading out and to try my luck.
While the morning was slow and non-eventful, the early afternoon warmed up just enough that I was able to grab a few action shots before headed home.
I hope you enjoy the set.
Feedback and comments are always welcome and appreciated.
Hey Greg ... you scored big time, my friend! #4 is simply fabulous! I left my place in Long Beach at 7am. Weather conditions were not good - drizzly actually. So I pulled over and called Joshua and Fred to tell them that I am turning around and going home ... to watch the women's World Cup soccer finals! Fortunately the game didn't disappoint! It's the Wimbledon Tennis Finals this weekend, so I am not sure if I will be joining Joshua and Fred for this shoot!

These are great Greg. 4, 6 and 9 are my picks. I don't understand why the others did not come when you had beautiful soft light like this.
Morris
Thank you Morris!
Cooler temps means the beetles are not as active so gives few opportunities to grab in flight opportunities.
It was a very slow morning for activity on this outing. I just got a little lucky the clouds peeked through ever so, and I was in the right place at the right time , before heading home.

Wow, the first and last two images are the winners in my opinion. Lovely owl and images.
#1 is my wife's favorite too. She didn't know that the owls use dung to attract the beetles near the burrows. She was like...um, what is that by the owls feet.

Outstanding, while I appreciate flight shots the perched scene environmentals are tops on my list.

amazing shots, Greg. Glad to have photogs like you who can teach newbies like me many new things.
Appreciate you sharing here.
I'm a newbie too! I read, study and learn from all the excellent photographers here on FM so I'm happy to hear I'm able to give a little back to our great community.

Thank you Bobby! We missed you and Joshua out there. It should be WARM this weekend. I was trying to see if I could sneak away to get out to San Pedro before its too late and the action is over. Have you been there lately?
My daughter's weren't too happy that we had to DVR the World Cup finals. Fortunately, though, they understand that they pretty much own every other weekend when they have their soccer games so I was given the green light this past weekend. I have one more free weekend before it's back to practice, games and tournaments.
It should be a great Wimbledon match this morning. Go Federer!!
