Nice stuff! The fact that you get sharp shots at 1.2 of kids jumping in the pool does say something about the potential of the R focus capabilities (and af speed of the lens)

Thank! Yeah I was surprised the 85 was able to keep focus for some action shots especially at 1.2. Now bring on a more powerful body Canon
So I have a question.....would you take the 50 over 85 for overall wedding work (portraits and group shots)? I'm pretty content with my 24-105 and 35 for covering everything else, but I'm considering trading out my EF 85L IS for one of those two.
Oh man I don’t know.. 50 and 85 are the best lenses I’ve owned. Been using 50 for everything and now that I have the 85 I’m using it for headshots and when I need more reach
I’m kind of in the same boat with the 28-70. I want it and need something wider than 50 and the idea of one lens ranging that much at f2 is tempting. But the 50 is what kept me with canon since it’s so good. I’m a prime guy so I’ll prob stay 50/85 and wait for a rf24/35
Also the 28-70 and RF85 is a good combo
I'm not quite sold on the 28-70 just yet. I don't want that and the 85 on my shoulders all day long to be honest. I'm waiting on the 24-70 to see where it's priced at first. Once it is officially announced and if it's at a decent price, I'll more than like sell my 35 and 24-105 get it with either the 50 or 85 (leaning towards this one).
Resistance is futile. You will all want lovely high end RF glass, especially once we get a couple proper cameras to use with the lenses. So start saving the money up, and stop buying EF lenses.
I now need to decide if I want to keep my very nice EF 85 f/1.4 once I break down and get the RF 85 f/1.2 to go with my RF 50 lens. The EF 85 works pretty well with the RF adapter, but still ...

I thought the same thing about my 85 1.4 until I paired it next to my friends 85RF. It's just not fair

Stop that ... I'm trying to ignore RF glass and tell myself, I can stick with EF glass on an R.
I want to believe that if I buy an R, it won't mean I'll spend $$$$$$$$$$ on RF glass to replace my EF glass.
I bought the RP just to get a taste of the mirrorless world. Before it even shipped, I ordered and received a 24-105 f/4 RF. Very good lens, very good.
So yeah, the RF lenses will call. I admire the snot out of this 85/1.2, but I don't really do the type of photography that would make this a good purchase for me.
