Nice work! If it is anything like the RF 50mm I am sure that it will be a knockout.

Lens looks to be outstanding! Just wish they had kept it roughly the same size as the old one. .

How much faster is the focusing?

I noticed that the RF85mm F1.2 L USM is supported in DPP 4.10.20 as of 4/10/19 which is old news by now. Also EOS Utility 3.10.20 was available on the same date. I think EOS Utility update is perhaps where the lens data rides in with for both software.

the focusing is lightening quick, nothing like the old 85 f1.2 thankfully.

It’s a big lens but you don’t really think about it when shooting with it. I think it handles great

It’s crazy because for as big as it is it doesn’t feel very heavy when shooting with it

Excellent. They paid great attention to mass centralization - both the 85/1.2 and 50/1.2 are rather short for their diameter; the RF 85mm is 4.62 inches long by 4.06 in wide.

I envy you. I’m also happy for you. Hope to see more great shots and maybe little comparison against older 85 1.2 or 1.4 or even sigma(whatever you have).

I honestly would absolutely love this lens but at that price I just can’t do it, it’s ludacris for me. I got all my Sony gear stolen (15k in gear) and then I went to Fuji for work coz it was cheaper, shot it for a year but just had to go back to FF mainly for 1stop better ISO(also 56 1.2 even tho super good autofocus was terrible in low light).
Now I saved up some money and bought canon eos r, but seems like sigma 35/85 will be. I was thinking maybe I pick up only 50 1.2 RF instead of both sigmas but not sure if that’s great idea.
I shoot weddings/events etc etc. I can make 50 work 95% of the time butttt I know there will be some situations where 35 will be need it and don’t wanna risk it. If any of you guys can give me his opinion about it that would be great(PM is fine so we don’t spam this threat)

This lens might be enough to get me buying an eos R and I'm a Nikon shooter. If only the EOS R have a D pad or Joystick instead of that touch pad.

There’s a few used RF50MM on here for a good price. Get that and the RF35?
