Colin, I also am enjoying the colors, the beautifully composed images and, of course, another view of the peoples across the World.
The headdresses are especially colorful. You have the exposure "dead on" for all of your Morrocan series!
Great job!

Just out of my own curiosity...do they ever ask you for a copy? Especially the children.

Thanks! Although I had a brutal cold the entire trip, I didn't let it stop me from pounding the streets every day.

The interactions really vary, often I will get their email address and send 'em a copy once I get home.

Great!! I just wondered! I am happy you did, it makes us Westerners less "ugly" in some eyes.
Yes, and very often when I see someone taking a photo of their partner or group, I will offer to take a picture of them both/all together (with their cameras) so that they have that special memory together, and when I take the time to compose the shot nicely, get their hair just right, remove items of distraction, etc, they are usually quite pleased and thankful. Random acts of kindness.
Many times too when I take someone's photo (with my FF camera & 70-200 f/2.8) they seem mildly interested, but then when they see the result on the rear screen, their mouth drops. Love it! I guess many are so used to the results they get with smartphones now.
I was walking down one of the many alleyways in this particular town, and saw this gentleman walking in the same direction just ahead of me. I then saw the wall coming up ahead of us with the carpets hanging, and I knew it would be a shot to die for. So I picked up my pace, passed him, stopped when I got to the right spot, and in the next second swung to the right and focused on him and fired. One shot. When I looked at the screen I was quite chuffed.
Thanks for sharing this Colin! I always wonder the "how's" when beautiful intimate portrait compositions are posted here. Especially in Countries that are not normally "Western friendly".
I find most peoples are really thrilled that someone, especially an American(amrikiin/amrikaayi), take the time to act friendly.
Before I retired in 2009, I spent 37 years traveling to almost all the Countries for my job. I found many not so friendly( ) and accommodating unless you spoke the language or used "hand signs" to convey your message.
I think the best politics is exactly what you did! They get 1st hand knowledge of what normal Westerners are like.

Colin, Excellent! I have show all your Morocco images to a very good fry of mine who happens to be from Morocco. He explained me the different dressing style. It represents the region they belong to. Loved your set!

Great - thanks! Yes, when out in the Sahara region, I learned about the colours and their meaning.
