I'm shooting a professional ballet dress rehearsal at end of June, and Monday went to the studio to take some snaps of the dancers learning their routines and get comfortable with a new camera and lens.
Great! I'd like to see these in B&W! Good job! My preference would have been a bit shallower DOF and faster shutter speed but these are very interesting as is.

limitations of the venue and poor lighting. That's as shallow as they get, shot wide open at 1.4 using the Sony 24/1.4 GM. And I needed that because of lack of light. Any faster shutter and the ISO would have been through the roof.
Practice makes perfect! Maybe fill flash next time? I understand your limitations and you did well in checking out the venue prior to the actual shoot!

can't use flash. It would interfere with the dancers' rehearsal and no way can the flash keep up with the number of shots I'm taking. These are just rehearsal shots. I shoot the actual dress rehearsal performance in a couple of weeks when the lighting will be even less. Those pics I'll have to shoot at a faster shutter and higher ISO, again wide open at 1.4, and will just have to deal with noise in post. Fortunately the A7iii is pretty good in low light.
