Indeed so, Brother Dan.... and in the context of your comment as to "political agenda:" when our tour bus arrived a the main reception center in Bayeux, I think it was, I was immediately struck by an array of national flags that represented all the countries involved in WWII. Amongst those flags was the German flag of today. I asked of our tour guide what was the intent of that, and she said "In death, we are all the same. In life, they all answered the call of their country." Quite a remarkable comment, I think.
