Hopefully you find one in stock elsewhere and can cancel that Dell order. Those people are horrible at Dell. That was my first and last experience with them. They swore up and down they had them in stock then told me 1-2 days out after I ordered. I feel bad for referring them on here.

Hi Mike, I contacted RRS a couple of days ago and based on their reply, the new LCF-102 RRS foot should be ready for delivery within the next two weeks. Here is what they said:
“It's actually available to order now. Our initially batch was very small, which is why it's listed as backordered, but we're expecting more this week or next. If you place an order now, it should still be fulfilled with this next incoming batch”

I got mine today and only fired off a few shots over lunch time. But staying true to my word, my first shots were with the 2xTC on the lens....that way it can only get better
I only reviewed those shots through the EVF and certainly the tack-sharp hit rate wasn't great for a perched, twitchy bird but I was handholding at 1/800 for 1200mm so maybe I need to work on technique a bit.
My first impression taking it out of the box (actually just lifting the box) was "this thing is a bit heavy". Taking it out, my next impression was this thing looks almost as big as my 200-400/1.4. Holding it in one hand and my 400DOII/1.4TC/MC-11 in the other hand my impression was the DO is well balanced and the 200-600 is fairly front heavy. But I didn't have the camera on at that time and usually the camera makes the 400DOII a little back heavy and with the 2-6 seems to balance it more neutral (as expected with camera on the rear).
I'm going to test this out as much as possible over the next 5 days. Not sure I want to deal with this heavy of a lens compared to the aperture I'm getting from it. But that thought might change with use. I'm hoping this lens will essentially replace my 400DOII as I'm only down 1/3 stop from the apertures I get out of the 400DOII with each focal length and AF should be way better (I hope).

You must not have been on their VIP list. There were a couple of people in this thread that made their order from B&H after I had who got their lens on day 1. They went from telling me the 9th, then the 12th, then maybe the 16th. I found it elsewhere and cancelled my B&H order. My lens delivered today.

Really disappointed to hear there was a "VIP list" They charged my credit card immediately on June 13th and I haven't received any updates as to when I will receive the lens. Future purchases will go to Adorama.

The “VIP List” was my sarcasm, but no matter what they say they have to have one. No other way to explain why people who ordered after others got their lenses first.

That’s who I ordered mine from on Saturday. They had them showing as available online and at the Burke store but as of Monday when they processed my order, it showed as back ordered. Mine shipped from Burke so I might have gotten their last one unless they got some more in since then.
Edit...just checked and they do show them in stock again. Anyone who hasn’t gotten theirs yet go and snatch it up. I ordered on Saturday and it shipped out the next business day (since they don’t get pickup from UPS on Saturdays).

100%. That’s what I did. I called Saturday morning to confirm before placing the online order. I edited my first post though as they must have gotten some more in because the website shows available again.
They were very friendly and I’d highly recommend them. They’ll likely get my future business going forward.
