For a belated Mother's Day post, here are some avocet chicks with their Mother sheltering them. As I watched a Cooper's Hawk circled until Mom and Dad took after him and chased him away - chicks live for another day!

Great set. Wish the chicks were facing the other way in 4 yet it's still a real nice image

Thank you Morris, the chicks approach Mom from the front to get permission, then snuggle in head first.
