p.1 #1 · Children photography

Here are some images from my children over the last years that I like a lot.
Started photography three years ago and I am only a hobbyist and I am learning so much each day. Hope to learn from your comments too!

So, CC very welcome!

VERY little to criticize!

It may be a style you're striving for -- light and airy -- but I offer my personal, subjective, salt-taking opinions:
* all images could use a dab more contrast and color (punch)
* #5 -- I'd add some light to fill the shadows (sun at his back)
* #7, the b&w, is a good conversion; its depth of field puts focus on her face with mom in the background. She's safe and secure

Three years... I'm going on 20 and am still far behind your skills and style. Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much!
Yeah, my editing styles changes like every three months after I watched a new tutorial still learning what I like and what not. All in all light and airy is a good direction for me I think.
#7 is also one of my favorites. My wife was sick and my daughter tried to comfort her

What really stands out to me is your choice of scenery, it's fantastic! Consider picking up the FE 100 STF for scenes like these where you could use a longer focal length (I do see that several of these images are wide/standard, however). I think you'll be impressed with it!

VOTED!

Thank you! Yesterday I ordered the Sigma 135 1.8. Should be here any minute. Hopefully that brings some more inspiration and new angles

You say you have a lot to learn, but the truth is that you have the right instincts, the natural "eye."
Don't let your instincts be diverted or corrupted by advice to change your style. These are little kids, and your "soft" style works very well. Your photos don't need more contrast, or more "punch," or anything else from the commercial dogma point of view. Be yourself; it's working great.

Fantastic set my friend, I really like 1 and 6. Could you share how you edited these?

Thank you Sure I can share !

Find attached the SOOC versions and all lightroom settings for image 1. I think I used photoshop only to clean up the background.

Image 6 was processed as in the (amazing) tutorial of Daniel Venter:
https://shootcreatecaptivate.com/products/complimentary-autumn-edits

His tutorials really improved my images a lot over the last year.

Hope this helps
