I own and like the EF 50/1.2L, BUT I agree with Stan that the new RF 50L is a huge improvement in all ways.
I have sort of a block against using the earlier version, even though I don't have the new RF. Having used the RF 50 a few times, it just ruined me for the old one, unless I need a dreamy look -- which is very seldom.
Still, it will be a year or more before I get the RF 50, so I have to dream for now.

@Elijah@, how does it compared with the Nikon 58 1.4? imho from the images seen here, the 58 does seem to have better micro contrast and bokeh.
Both lenses are special in their ow way, both are sharp enough for my taste (when fine tuned) and both have their own unique bokeh rendition.
If I were to choose, I'd do 58G all day. 50L has way too much CA, sometimes unacceptable!
In fact I may end up going back to 58G again..........

Nice capture @Elijah! great composition and editing. But I think the bokeh is a little too nervous for my liking(the first and third photo in particular)

Thanks.
Bokeh is definitely nervous compared to 58G but sometimes I like that. my 135L however, produces amazing bokeh wide open.

You had your fun with the Canon, looks like you wanna come home to your 58g by the sound of things haha. Combine with z6 make it an awesome combo with eye focus and super easy MF. The 135L is a nice lens indeed by the look of pictures it renders.

Its a beautiful lens and hopefully will remain a niche product for peeps who decide on continuing owning DSLRs (Me included). I have sold this lens twice and am still tempted to pick up a used one. One has to know how to play with this and the 85 1.2, they are certainly not all purposes lenses unless stopped down but then what's the point of owning these...sigh!

Can't tell you how many great images I've seen with the 50L.
I'm not disputing that. I have even some great photos of my own taken with the EF50L. That doesn't change the fact that in no way did it live up to the hype, price point, and especially quality standard set by other lenses with the red ring.

Sony A7R, Metabones II adapter, Canon 50/1.2 L lens wide open. Love this lens on the Sony body since I can finally accurately focus with it wide open! Keeper lens for me for its bokeh alone.
