Congratulations to Mark Metternich for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 7 votes - View Previous Winners
Thank you, everyone, for the condolences on the other thread! I appreciate it!
I'm still thinking a lot of how my mom so loved my Pacific Northwest coastal work, so I processed this today. I had to climb down a rock face to get to the bottom (and have taken people here several times with a rope) but this is definitely one of my favorite places I have stood on earth. You feel the power and awe of place here.
I'll be traveling back and forth from Fl to the Pacific Northwest 3 times in the next month for moms memorial, and then two photo trips. Sorry if my responses are delayed.
All the best to you and your family.
Oh, master print guru (yoda) Robert B Park (FM Member) and I got interviewed by The Landscape Podcast (Nick Page) here about mastering printmaking:
Beautiful!
Also, I listened to your first podcast with Nick Page and learned a ton from that hour.
I am wondering if Peter Lik also uses Lumachrome HD? I went into one of his stores and was impressed with how the colors change with the amount of light you shine on the print. They have this backroom where they can dim the lights and the colors become more saturated. Is that a Lumachrome property or some other proprietary technology? Thanks!
Sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom. Lost mine two weeks ago she was 97. I will miss our weekly chats and visits. Great image it represents the beauty and power of Creation.

Thank you so very much! Did you listen to the second one with Robert Park and I? It is so fun getting interviewed by Nick. He is great and knows how to keep it fun, yet ask great questions photographers would love to hear about. At our "The Ultimate Fine Art Printmaking Workshop" last month in Vegas, we had a bunch of people say they enjoyed the podcast too. They were really mind blown to see and learn how far the craft can be taken. It was a total BLAST!

Peter Lik uses Fuji Flex on Acrylic, which is great but has significant deficiencies as well. Lumachrome is a whole new level of quality print and blows Fuji Flex (and everything else on the planet) away for those who want the ultimate in super gloss dimensionality, vibrancy, consistency, longevity, color variations, and detail. Its reactiveness to light is even more significant! It is not just a little bit better, but better by a large margin when files are prepped their best for it. Yes, FM member Robert Park (Nevada Art Printers) innovated it, it is proprietary and no one is doing what he is doing. Robert Park is pure genius. To be able to do this workshop with him is of the highest privilege to me. There is no one on earth I would feel more privileged to work with.
I firmly believe him to be maybe the best printmaker in the world today. The stuff we are teaching in our workshop, no one is.
