This past winter I was extremely fortunate to have spent some time with a wild Canada Lynx in Montana. Besides a few short videos from my trail cams, this is the only lynx I've ever observed in the wild, despite tracking them for several years. This is a large male and he was incredibly docile for a wild animal, probably one of the most cooperative subjects I've ever photographed. It helped that he had a deer carcass cached nearby, returning to feed on it for several days.
What a superb image!! He gave you a nice pose (what eye contact!) and you were ready. Congratulations on finally seeing an animal you tracked for years and getting a great image. You earned it. YGMV.
Fantastic image... just spent a few days tracking and photographing bobcats... I would have loved to have returned home with a shot that is half as clean and striking as yours!
