Ok, I tried a 2cm lens hood, but unfortunately the reflections are still there. It's a shame, but then the 135 GM isn't a useful lens for me. It even occurs indoors with LED light.

Can you show an example of this ring lens flare? I've been using a short 2cm hood for years now and I've never run into it, though I don't use 135mm often...

I bought a new copy of the 135 GM and can now correct this effect with a small sun visor from a third-party manufacturer. Funny why it didn't work on the previous copy.
Now I'm happy with the 135 GM and the 85 ART can actually now be sold. :-)
Good question. A 50-150mm f/2 would certainly solve a couple of my problems (I'd gain an 85mm focal length in my kit) but create a new one....namely, the weight.
