Congratulations to Colin F for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 3 votes - View Previous Winners
We've been fortunate to have a rare visitor to our area, the Northern Hawk Owl! My day with this amazing creature included a heavy snowfall with wind, turning to rain, then clearing. My gloves were soaked, and it was difficult staying warm. Quite a day!
*Please note: Jason's (senna4ever) similar post a few days ago is within a different week for "Thread of the Week", so please don't feel that our two posts are in competition with each other for voting.
Did you capture a single owl at those various settings? Not that it matters since those images are truly wonderful - YGMV, Colin! I am also confused about the cutoff time of the voting...

Thanks! Yes, this was all the same owl in one day of radically different weather.
The "Thread of the Week" runs from (about) midnight Friday night, for one week, however, any thread created within any given week has 7 days where it can be voted on. So if you made a thread on a Thursday, it will be voted on for that particular week's "TOTW", but it will remain "votable" for 7 days from the moment it was posted. So one will only be able to vote on this thread until next Saturday. A little hard to get one's head around, but it seems to work fairly.
Super duper, I think I like the type of light you had last week compared to what we experienced yesterday. I just find these images more special than yesterday's batch we got. Of course the snow helps that but just overall the harsher light yesterday was a let down.
Anyways, I'm going to have to try really hard to make a NHO thread anyone will care about....but I have one ace up my sleeve and it is "IF"...
