Wonderful images Rob! Did you go with a photo trip or by yourself? Were these in the wild or staged somehow? Just great shots regardless!
For the most part we are on our own (rented our own 4x4). Some of the hummingbirds are staged with sugar water on the flowers, the perches are just there for them to sit. I set the flowers up and spray them myself. The Quetzals you need a guide to get on the farmers land but they are not staged, just wait and hope . We used a guide for 2 days out of 14 days which we where on our own. Many of the birds I took pics of are not staged/feeder birds.
I personally get bored with the staged perches granted you can get some beautiful shots. I find more enjoyment out of the natural finds, like the hawk drinking, woodpecker at the nest etc. This is our 4th time now, so you learn more each time.

killer set Rob. What a great lens to have at 400, 560 and 800mm. I love the macaws especially the single one IF and the quetzal silhouette is my top pick in this great set.
Thanks Herb. I have been very pleased with the results from the 400mm. I am really thinking about not getting the 600mm now (thought I would never say that). Amy may have something to say about that, I think she wants the 400mm too
