p.1 #1 · A few from Costa Rica with the 400mm f2.8 Mk III
Here are a few from Costa Rica, I used the Canon 400mm f2.8 Mk III with and without extenders. The lens performed outstanding in all phases. I handheld 95% of my trip and was pleasure to do so. I did have my first Cfast card go south and lost a few images. I did send it out but the card is fried and the images are not recoverable. The thinking is maybe the power delivery from the camera may have caused it. I will send it off to CPS and let them check it out. Gives me a reason to go back and get them again . It was a fun trip and I seen a few different species too. Everything is in natural light.

I had the earlier version of that lens and the aperture speed of f/2.8 was a joy to use in CR. A little FL-challenged but yet, nothing that TCs couldn't handle. These are wonderful images, Rob! With so many superb images, there is no way I could pick my favorites but both quetzal, trogon, chlorophonia images are outstanding!

Natural light? No beamer/flash? Wow!
John
Hi John, Yes everything was all natural. I did not even bring flash with me. Have fun in June, do not worry you will get some great shots.

Sorry to hear that one of your Cfast cards die.
And very nice set of images, that 400 surely delivers outstanding IQ, TFS.

killer set Rob. What a great lens to have at 400, 560 and 800mm. I love the macaws especially the single one IF and the quetzal silhouette is my top pick in this great set.
