Bob these are wonderful images. I am of to Tanzania in a week with my two adult children for the first time to Africa. Not specifically a photo trip but I am loaded for bear with camera gear. Surprised you got all these great birds with just your 100-400. I was told to take my 500 F4 for most plus a 100-400 for stuff in close. I am a big birder but this trip hoping for the big cats , elephants, zebras, and giraffes. Taking a 400 DO II as well for my daughter to use. These are beautiful birds shots so that will be the cherry on top if I get half as much stuff as you have .

You'll have a great trip! I"m using micro four thirds so the effective reach is doubled, otherwise the birds would have been too far away. For full frame birding I agree the 100-400 would be too short.
