Thanks for the test Guy. I could not replicate the profile issue with the 40/1.2 in Lightroom. Weird.
They are really all great lenses for landscapes, portraits or general photography. With the bigger ones you get more blur wide open but the CV 50/3.5 is capable of very nice images.

Thanks Fred it’s the strangest thing I ever seen in C1. Not sure what to make of it except turn the Profile off.
Really like this CV 50 and for 550 dollars new it’s pretty darn hard not to have in the bag. My Sony 50 is going nowhere. Like having both 50s for sure. I think my plan is to just rotate my cv 40 and cv 50 in and out of my MF kit depending on my usage. The CV 40 gives me one very fast lens in my bag. So I’m hard pressed to sell it. Just have this little cluster of 40,50,75 in there. Trying to figure out how to get 5 lenses in my PD 5.

For a F 3.5 I’m dumb founded on the separation in that portrait. You just don’t expect f3.5 to have that nice falloff. She pops off the screen. Great 3D

Yes and at f/3.5 is very easy to focus. Throw another person in the frame and f/3.5 works even better!

Same as Sony 50 and CV40
Thanks for doing these tests and posting the files-very helpful!
As an owner of both the 50/3.5 and the 40/1.2, which would you recommend for general shooting (travel photography, some landscapes, the occasional (environmental) portrait)? I've been really impressed by the pop of the 40/1.2, judging from what I see in the CV40 thread and on flickr.
Now I want one Voigtlander lens, just not sure which one to get-the 35/2.5 (or the new 35/2?), the 40/1.2 or the 50/3.5 (or 50/1.2, but I already own the Nikkor)? I lean towards the 40/1.2, as it sits in the middle of my most used focal lengths, and I just love the pop while not rendering "clinical". Right choice?
Thanks for any insights you can offer! (BTW, this would be the VM version, as I have the Z6.)

Yes this is a VM version. Funny you ask this question as it’s been my mind as well. I’m still trying to figure out what to do here myself. Seems I got one too many lenses here

The 35/2.5 always worked pretty badly on Sony sensors, with bad smearing on the edges. I used to have one and it's an older design not optimized for digital but rather for film. Any of the new ones should be much better even for the Z6 I think. The new 35/2 is very nice if you want a smaller/lighter one, as is the 50/3.5 also.
