Thanks Morris - yeah, this is the first time I've owned a tele-zoom with this much range. It's so much fun to shoot with. The quality of the lens at all focal lengths is superb.

Great shots and a good read! Lots of interesting and useful information.
There’s a Sigma 60-600 thread on the Nikon forum - perhaps you would consider cross posting?

Nice! Got mine in Nov and it's been a money maker.
Replaced my 150-600 Sport with the 60-600 but I
still use the 200-500 and especially the 500 f4 VR
when conditions warrant, as I rock BIF and rodeo.

BTW, I've found optimal IQ shooting wide open...definitely
at 600mm. You may want to consider tweaking your copy.

trenchmonkey - optimal wide open - mine probably is too.

cjmiller/birdied - yeah, looking at these waves is hypnotic
