... I got this new Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 and used it on this shot. It's a very, very sharp glass that costs a quarter of the price of the Nikon lens. I took 4 or 5 shots and stitched them into this pano (so this is a huge image of around 17000 pexel on a long edge).
______
With a 2x extender that should give you 600mm or more reach and still focus at f5.6. Not bad for the price.

Gregg,
Can't pick a favorite as they are all strong on their own. The last is almost graphic capturing what it seems to be a snow storm.

PS: Ok, they are all beautiful but #2 is very special to me. Difficult composition but you pulled it off and with great lighting to boot!
Thanks Fred. It was fun to process this (and other) image(s).
These are all amazing, but as others have said I love the emotion in the last shot. It screams I think I'm going to die (or maybe that's me screaming).
Wonderful set of images! But really like the 3rd and the 5th. The 5th in particular love the tones and texture in the snow banks bordering the stream. Reminds me of a stream that I frequently visited in the winter that was a short walk from school.
