Been a very busy year of shooting for me. I don't really ever post so figured I would put together my 10 favorite shots of the year. I picked each for either the rarity of the bird, the beauty of its surroundings or the adventure that led to getting the shot. I shot in -25 F in Minnesota and in 116F in Arizona. I shot in the mountains and at the beach. I still say the process is what keeps me going. I just love being out and sharing my time with the birds. Hope you enjoy them.

I come here often for inspiration, and your post certainly fills the bill. Your Goldfinch photo is just perfect in so many ways but especially in composition. Wouldn’t it look great in a frame on your wall? Thanks for sharing all of these. Have a great new year.

Thank you so much. The Goldfinch is a common bird but made my list because of exactly what you mention. The combination of that beautiful perch, the head turn and the background made it one of my favorites.
The Bunting is special in its own right but the Goldfinch I could look at all day. Perfect pose, composition, background, colors, etc. All around great set. Congrats.
