Tried some landscapes with it too and can't fault the lens performance, though 50mm still isn't my preferred field of view for landscape use - not wide enough for big picture or including foreground, but not really long enough to pick out details either. Maybe I just need to get better at using that focal length. Happy enough with this shot anyway:

Just picked up one for myself since it was on sale and loving it so far. Immediately appreciating the f/1.8 light boost since I'm coming from the kit f/4 lens.

Actually the 50 1.8S is perfect for landscapes IF you stitch. You can create amazing panoramic landscapes with this lens! It has practically no distortion, gets you closer than a wide angle can, and stitching allows for a wider scene.

Nice guy and portrait. A little bit over-sharpened, IMHO.

Here a few years back, Fuji 35mm f1.4R, loved loved loved that lens, if I only could I'd buy it again with a small form factor body and would be really happy

Why can’t you buy the 35 and a Fuji body again? You mean financially? Or is it not available in some capacity ?

Very nice portrait.

First and foremost financially, Fuji bodies, in my opinion, are overrated especially on the Italian market (where I live), the X-Pro series is a joke, they sell for the same amount as a Michelin star restaurant meal for four people... the X-Tx series are reasonable but for an X-T3 they still ask 700-800 and those are old cameras with lot of actuations on the shutter, the lens also still in the 400 range, if I think I bought it new for 400 off a French store I still beat myself for selling it.

Besides I have tons of Nikon gear, D800-D850, Z6II-Z8... not to mention older gear.

Honestly I am debating since ages if to get a Fuji camera, I can't be sure the pleasant to my eye results were due to the lens, the Fuji sensor, a combination of the two... but it sure was a small setup which could often pass under the radar, I been also thinking of a Sony body like an A6700 with a 35mm prime for compactness but missing the joy to pick focus point and a very high price tag due to recent marketing kept me away from it but Fuji I am not into film simulations while Sony I appreciate the intelligent focus system which from my very very short test looked amazing especially for people reckon.

Thank you
