These are some difficult subjects and skewed angles Pius, only #2 did you miss the mark on the eye, the rest make for great color and fine sharpness! Sweet shooting sir

These were all taken hand held... I'm fine tuning my technique for the arrival of 600 III .
I get frustrated with a pod, find tracking much easier hand held.
There's a narrow section where the river meets the ocean so they fly very close, if they have a head wind life is easy... tail wind is a challenge..
Whats nice about this area is you can see the bird coming way's out and get on the bird early, its a canon so I have to pump the back button "lots".. .
I put my back to the sun and rest the 600 on my foot until its time to track so its not like I have the 600 in my hands all the time.
These birds are speedsters and chew up alot of ground in 15 seconds + 14 frames per sec...

thanks for the info, Pius. these are not as easy shots to take, as you are saying. Your skill level is certainly up there.
