they are nice. to uplift them, consider: #1 if you use signs in the background, think about including the whole sponsor name--it is more interesting to a viewer and a potential client (the sponsor). the upper end of the background is also a bit of a problem-strive for cleaner backgrounds. #2 it seems like your focus is off. shots with part of the course in the view are interesting but need a context. on these i try to shot with a ball coming up-which means firing much quicker without firing before they hit. if he is coming out of a bunker, you would like ball and sand in the shot. keep shooting !
Thanks for those comments. I hadn't thought of the signage/background in that way.
Here's another showing the signage better and Ricky at the top of his backswing. (I was about 50 yards away - so he wouldn't be distracted by the sound of the 20D slaps!!)
Here's another of Pampling showing the sand in the shot. Still not sharp enough (motion blur) as it is only 1/200 sec f/6.3 and ISO 100, other shots were better due to full sun. The clouds came over and I should've changed it to ISO 200 or 400 to get the speed to 1/400 or 1/500.
