I'd say that's pretty nice! And good for you avoiding hot spots on the skin. I wonder how it looks in color, though. Keep working it!

Excellent image! You have certainly created a terrific image using the 'viewing the viewer' motif, one I occasionally try in my own photography. Love the lighting here. Another way you bring emphasis to your subject is by combining the low contrast background with a bold take on the fellow. Works very well. You avoid the overly blown and flare-full style I see so often. Classic, not trendy.
